Our American sister organization, The Association of LGBTQ+ Corporate Directors has released its 2023 Board Monitor Report sponsored by JPMorgan Chase and Equilar.
The Association spoke to more than 200 existing and aspiring LGBTQ+ Directors to better understand the bottlenecks to representation. It analyzed the profile of another 122 openly LGBTQ+ existing Directors in the Equilar database who occupy 264 public and private Board seats to understand better specific barriers to better representation: i) a lost generation, ii) industry bias, and iii) the network gap.
The report is full of fascinating insight regarding the case for LGBTQ+ inclusion in corporate boardrooms, the barriers to such participation, and the important role to be played by corporate governance participants including recruiters and government. Nevertheless, the report also finds that the Association of LGBTQ+ Corporate Directors leads with talent.
